King Vulture at National Centre for Birds of Prey

Things To Do

OUR CORNER OF NORTH YORKSHIRE IS JAM PACKED WITH THINGS TO SEE AND DO!

Helmsley

Helmsley is a really wonderful market town, full of independent shops, tearooms and places to eat. It is well worth a wander around. When you visit us at the centre we’ll issue you with a wrist band which makes it easy for you to pop down to Helmsley during the day. In 2015 Helmsley won the Great British High St competition.

Helmsley Castle

Helmsley Castle overlooks the market town and is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside!

Helmsley Walled Garden

Just a few hundred metres from the National Centre for Birds of Prey is the lovely Helmsley Walled Garden. On a level site with easy access, you can lose yourself in a maze of tumbling flowers

Rievaulx Abbey

Rievaulx Abbey is just a few miles from Helmsley (in fact it’s a very pleasant walk direct from the centre) Truly one of the most amazing sights in Yorkshire, and therefore the world 🙂
